Douglas Cope Jr, DVMDr. Cope is a proud graduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has been a valued member of the Lexington Veterinary Associates team since 1988. He and his wife, Kim, live in the countryside between Lexington and Denton, where they’ve raised a wonderful family. Together, they have four children and three grandchildren. In addition to his veterinary work, Dr. Cope is an ordained pastor at Belews Creek Cowboy Church. He also enjoys raising and showing cutting horses, blending his love for animals with his passion for Western heritage.

Ralph C. Ashley, DVMDr. Ashley received a B. S. in Animal Science from NCSU in 1973 and his DVM degree from the University of Georgia in 1977. He has practiced at Lexington Veterinary Associates since 1977. He has served on the Davidson County Board of Health and is a member of the First Baptist Church, the Lexington Kiwanis Club, and the Lexington Choral Society. Dr. Ashley is married to Jean; they have three children, six grandchildren and a Westie
named Nicky. |
Autumn Anthony, DVM
Dr. Autumn Anthony grew up in Harrisburg, North Carolina, and graduated from Hickory Ridge High School. She attended North Carolina State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with minors in History and Genetics. She continued her education at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in May 2026.
While completing her education, Dr. Anthony gained valuable hands-on experience working in emergency veterinary medicine. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is solving the mystery behind each patient’s symptoms; gathering the clues, connecting the puzzle pieces, and developing the best plan to help each pet feel better.
Dr. Anthony now lives in the Lexington area with her cat, Poppy, and her dog, Shelbie. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her pets and indulging in her slight addiction to sweet tea!
Dr. Anthony has quickly become a valued member of the Denton Animal Hospital family, and she looks forward to building lasting relationships with our patients and their families.
